Macbeth is mad in the scene with the dagger. Macbeth says he sees a dagger floating in the air provoking him to grab it. "Is this a dagger which I see before me/ The handle toward my hand?"(2.1.33-34) This proves that Macbeth is mad because he is seeing an imaginary dagger right in front of him. Hence in the dagger soliloquy Macbeth is mad.
